He specialises in famous effects by leading, and award-winning, magicians from across the World.Good magic is a powerful form of entertainment . It provides a lot of fun and amazement . It is also a very strong stimulus to get people, who may not have met for a long while, relaxing and talking .This is why good close up magic is increasingly popular at a wide variety of events from wedding receptions and parties to corporate functions and trade fairs.

High class close-up magic is increasingly popular at wedding receptions. The reasons are not hard to find. Close-up magic is a powerful and engaging form of entertainment. The 'in word' is contemporary, but much high quality close-up goes back much further than people think. The emphasis is upon highly entertaining close up - drawn from the acts of the World's top magicians.

Modern close-up is amazing. A set of just 4 ordinary cards, which can be from a borrowed deck, change values and colour/suits again and again to a powerful storyline. Sponge balls appear and disappear. Coins change places. Objects ( such as bank notes )  appear in a flash of fire. Performed at people's tables these effects are a powerful stimulus to get people talking who may not have met for many years- if ever!

Mike Driver has substantial experience of performing high quality close-up effects at wedding receptions. There are number of alternatives:

  • Guests can be entertained during the drinks' reception, before the meal and evening entertainment.  Mike can perform outside in the grounds of the venue, or indoors if the weather is not so good! This is called 'strolling magic'. This can also work well while photographs are being taken.
  • Alternatively, Mike can perform close up effects, by leading magicians, at individual tables during the course of the meal. Mike is an experienced wedding reception, restaurant and hotel magician - so he does NOT ruin a good meal!! He works at each table before, or after courses.
  • After the meal there is often time needed for setting up the venue for the evening event - live music, disco etc. During this time Mike can entertain your guests and keep the momentum going.

At many receptions Mike performs for 3 hours - this is an average, and sometimes it is longer- or shorter of course!. This is based on Mike working at each table, or for each group, for about 12 minutes. This may sound sound an odd time! But 12 minutes is 4-5 high class effects - from the World's leading magicians - with a really good variety - fire, coins, cards, rings and sponge balls.
